Re: [RC] LD/50 mile speed comparsion - David & MaggieThe other conclusions that can be drawn from this data is the mean ride time for LD rides is within the time window required for a Competitive Trail Ride and in a CTR there is no extended rest time as there is in a LD ride. The LD riders are going at the rate required to finish a 25 mile CTR but the LD horses get a 30 to 40 minute rest half way that is not counted in their time and the CTR horses don't get such a rest. Here in Ohio, we ride under OAATS rules. While we do have a faster average time than NATRC rides, we also have at least one 30-45 minute hold on 25+ mile CTRs and usually on the shorter novice rides, also. Maggie in Ohio--starting to get panicky about the upcoming All Kidding Aside CTR and R&T that I am managing in only A WEEK!!!
