Re: [RC] LD/50 mile speed comparsion - Lynn Kinsky
I disagree with that! A 25-35 mile NATRC ride (one day Novice, one day Open), at least in Regions 1 and 2 (Western US), include a 45 minute to 1 hr lunch stop AND two or three 15 minute P&R/vet checks. The horse typically spends 1.5 hours rest time in the course of a day's competition (rest time is not counted in calculating the *pace* of the ride.) Also, I have never experienced an LD ride where the extended rest was not counted in my time -- I've had 6 hours to finish a 25 and that six hours includes time spend in the hold. -- Lynn Kinsky Santa Ynez, CA http://www.silcom.com/~lkinsky =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= http://www.endurance.net/ads/seabiscuit.html Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
