Re: Re: Quarter Horses (long)
No flames, Karen, but that statement about how one shouldn't be proud of
winning or top tenning a LD ride is why I didn't originally share with
ridecamp the BC my horse got at a LD. I didn't race. I am proud. Of
myself, of my husband who crewed for us, of my dear horse who did such a
super job and of my daughter who was first across the line. We all worked
together for the good of our horses, had a great time while we were at it
and feel the experience only helps us prepare ourselves even more for 50s
(which we have been doing but I couldn't do that weekend because I had had
pneumonia the week before). I imagine we are the exception but please
don't make me feel bad for feeling good about doing well in a LD ride. We
are 2nd year newbies, still learning and for us LD is a learning and
conditioning tool. I enjoy 50s and am getting better (always try to
improve our time just a little bit and always looking to complete!) but
enjoy an occasional 25 LD. They are FUN and some people just suck that
right out of it getting bent out of shape over all those issues I won't
dare mention for fear of creating a thread that is old hat!!
