crops
Oh, dear, Lif. I felt rather bad after reading your post. I carry a
crop on my left side (compromised left leg) and hold it in a visible
position (MARE ALWAYS SPINs to left) when I see a "situation"
approaching. Yes, after she has been undersaddle about ten months and
done a 50 or two, I begin to leave the crop at home. Wonder what this
says about me? She definitely becomes more businesslike and less silly
after a few hundred miles. I had given up the crop but after the better
part of 5 months off, I found it very helpful!!! Also, I have seen
some lovely trained horses that just step forward with a whip held over
their hip. There is a school of training, I can't remember which ones
that recognize a whip or crop is a cue - not a punishment! Ill stop.
I like you and know you recognize there is more than one way to skin a
cat (Ugh!) jan
