Re: RC: Deer Flies and now...Killer Bees
Hi Roberta -
I live in Phx., AZ & have not encountered any killer bees, but definately
keep my ears open. Two years or so ago, the county (I think) hung up some
traps to capture & test bees in the area. I never did hear the result, but
there are some attacks reported in various areas in the city.
Right now the mesquite & paloverde are blooming & you can hear bees
everywhere. I just hold my breath & ride through - so far so good. I think
my only option would be to try to outrun them as I know neither of my horses
will hang around once the action starts. Also have heard to pull your shirt
over you head - this would go along with the naked hiker, only you have a
topless woman who also can't see where she is going on a runaway horse.
