Here in Ma, we have a product called Speedi Beet. I don't know if it is just our area or not. It is in flakes and seems to be quite durable and long lasting. It is pretty pricy, but only 10 minutes worth of soaking and it is ready. It has at least most of the sugars taken out. It is advertised for horses with sugar issues. I love it for holds.
