I agree with Diane on the surface. Human life must take precedence. I recognize, though, that the people of Haiti need the animals of Haiti to survive. The notion that people who have (barely) survived an earthquake will have the strength to chase down and catch a loose steer and have the wherewithal to butcher it is, on it's face, ridiculous. If all the Haitian animals die, they will necessarily need to be replaced. That would be far more expensive than saving the animals that survived the earthquake to begin with. So, helping the animals to survive is helping the people. JMHO
