[RC] Beet pulp pellets question - Terry Banister - Jonni

Terry wrote:i just don't understand why people bother with beet pulp pellets. Shredded (loose) beet pulp in most cases, no longer has molassas added. Just dump a scoop or two into the feed bin, and pour an equal amount of water over it and stir! No soaking needed!!! I have been doing it for 9 years. Why do people bother with pellets??<<<

The types of beet pulp available can be very regional. Just because CA has for example, shreds without molasses, does not mean that all part of the nation do. In our part of TX, I have only found shreds WITH molasses. I have talked to others who can only find pelleted, and have never seen shreds in their area. So, in reply to "Why do people bother with pellets?", because for some, that is their only option. And some I have communicated with can't find ANY beet pulp at their local feed stores. <gasp> Imagine that! Its not like straight beet pulp is put out by just one manufacturer nationwide.
