Re: [RC] Trailer Fire at Hahira - Sisu West RanchFrom the catalytic heater site: "... No flame, no flue or chimney, no fan or blower and no noise. Safe for operation at ..." Note no flue etc. The fire is still inside. It still produces CO2. It still requires a window left open. By using the catalyst, even if oxygen starved it can not produce CO (poison). By being permanently installed it would be harder to tip over or have the propane leak. One other thing I realized elk hunting this fall. While talking to other hunters they complained that they couldn't deal with the condensation in their camper when using propane heat. I had never had this problem with my LQ on late rides in MN. I then realized they were using a catalytic propane heater. The combustion of propane produces two products. One is CO2, the other is water. Bingo, that is the source of the extra water for the condensation.
