Re: [RC] RO-L - Truman PrevattIn reality if the competition codes do not reflect the reason for pulls they are worthless to the AERC. In which case there is not reason to collect them. It gets right down to:a) is the AERC role to collect data that has the potential to provide valuable information which in the long run could be of benefit to both the riders and welfare or the horses? or b) is the AERC's role to worry about the "self esteem" of some small subset of the riders because it upsets them so much to see an "L" or "M" by his/her wonderful horse's name? Personally I go with a) and I believe that's implied in the bylaws of the organization. The AERC should not be in the rider self esteem business - it should be in the collecting data that could potentially aid in promoting the welfare of our equine partners.
