I would ride the saddle with the pad the saddle maker/owner recommends. When I have sold a saddle in the past, I have encouraged the buyer to purchase the pad used with it..it is usually pennies on the dollar..and then use it for awhile to make sure it works for you before replacing it with a new one.. If you are buying a new saddle, talk to the seller about what pads work well with THAT saddle.. I have in my arsenal..HAF pads, Toklat Woolback, Coolback, Supracor, Ulster..you name it... It totally depends on the type of saddle I am riding in, the horse, how far I am going, etc..
