    Another way to solve this problem is to NOT unhook the girth loop from
    the breast collar before you undo the girth, and just slip the girth
    loop (while still attached to the breast collar) off the girth (and
    leave it attached to the breast collar).

If you use a fuzzy girth cover it holds the girth loop in place. Then the only problem is the GIRTH COVER slipping off ... LOL!
