Re: [RC] [RC] Beet pulp fed dry - rides2farThat was a couple years ago and I haven't fed it wet or dry since because it was such a scare. You know I fed beet pulp for a while. Then I finally asked myself...why the heck am I doing this? It's a pain in the butt. Messy. The horses eat it...or not...in which case I have to dump it out and wash the pan. They were fat & sassy without it, zero problem holding their weight. I have no problem having plenty of high quality hay so foriage isn't a problem. When they eat it they will turn and bite at a fly, which puts that sticky stuff all over their chest and draws flies...not to mentions leaves a nasty crusty layer on their hair. All for what? If I'm going to a ride I still occasionally give them some the week or so before, then offer it at the ride but more often than not they eat it the night before (when they're drinking plenty anyway) and don't touch it the entire competition. So...I guess I'm one more person who'll say "Use it if you want to; but it's not *mandatory* to compete in endurance.
