Re: [RC] [RC] Beet pulp fed dry - Sisu West Ranch"...Then I finally asked myself...why the heck am I doing this? It's a pain in the butt. Messy..." Before we moved to MT, we had to suppliment with a whole bunch of calories. At one point I was feeding Sketer like he was at Canterbury Downs, 3 qts of grain twice a day. Then I discovered oil and shredded beet pulp. A half gallon of dry could absorb a pint of oil. I fed him this, with a little grain, morning and night. Oil first, then water then feed. Now we only feed enough concentrates to convince our herd to eat the Se suppliment. To keep them liking beet pulp, we still use it one time a day. One quart pellets soaked plus two quart grain one time a day, divided amoung 7 horses.
