There is a guy down in FL that started to use beet pulp on his horses because he was having trouble finding good hay during the dry season last winter. He had horses that had never colic start to show mild colics. He stopped using beet pulp the colics stopped. He just came had to drive to get his hay.I've used it at a total of two rides one of which turned out to be the only time in 11 years of endurance my horse has ever needed any sort of treatment. Was it related to the beet pulp - we will never know the true reason for the colic since except for Mr. Ed horses don't talk, but the treatment vet at the clinic said it could have been a contributing factor. I came home, threw the bag away and haven't used it since.
