[RC] camping with horses - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: kate kate.kearby@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== almost anyone can afford a hi line teather, i've got enough stuff in my trailer for about 4 sets, 8 horses worth, just from gathering stuff. old western girths and buckles, old halter rings, some real carabiners and any 3/8 or bigger 50 foot length of rope, a ratchet tie down strap to tighten it up is handy. so for $10 i've got a nice safe tieing method for 2 horses to me beats the heck out of hundreds of dollars that can be used for fuel and entry fees.... all our tie nice to the trailer too and will stand side by side well, comes in handy when the wind is blowing and it's raining and you can put them out of the wind. ... been to many horse camps using tie methods, including double tie of stallions, seen a single loose horse now and then, but just one loose horse usually just hangs out when it can't get a bunch to fly around with them..... glad i don't have to mess with pens, more i hear about them the more dangerous they sound. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
