Re: [RC] Time off before 100s - Truman PrevattAs my track coach used to say - "I don't care what you do on your own time - it's what you do on my time that's important." For my horse the same goes. I define his workout, I track his progress and make modifications based on how it is going and decide when to increase, taper or rest. If he wants to cavort in the pasture - that's cool but that's not part of his program ;-) .Truman heidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: Tapering is a good ideal (and probably what most people do), but tapering is not completely stopping training. It is modifying training to peak for an event. Throwing a horse in the pasture for three weeks prior to a ride would be the same as a runner sitting on the couch, watching TV and eating chips and dip instead of working out for three weeks before a run. -- “Many people consider the things government does for them to be social progress but they regard the things government does for others as socialism.” Earl Warren =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
