If they are really two different disciplines (as some of us argue), then in order to level the playing field, what is really needed is a recognition of each as separate with different sets of rules (as already is the case). If the one discipline wants to have fifty vehicle rider/horse support, so be it. But not in the game many of us wish to participate, as finishers or "racers". They can co-exist just as surely as riders striving for placing and riders striving to complete mileage can co-exist--the latter two every weekend at virtually every AERC event. We need not all think alike nor have the same goals to get along and enjoy the sport.
