[RC] Gut Sounds - Scott Johnson

This is most likely a question for the vets, if they don't mind. If a person wanted to listen to his/her horse's gut sounds at home, can a gut be too noisy? I know, obviously that a quiet gut is not good, but I thought it would interesting and educational if I regularly listened to my horse's gut. Does it matter which side to listen to? In a related topic, when a vet gives an A or B (or whatever) for gut sounds at a ride, is there a number of sounds that would be optimal for an A, etc? Also, could a horse always have B or C gut sounds, even at home when the horse is not doing a ride? Thanks for any information,

Dede
