At the Wild West Ride, Melissa Ribley, DVM announced at the ride meeting
that afterwards she was having a separate meeting for any new riders (or
people who had additional questions). She explained to them how everything
worked - gait into hold, P&R's, etc., and the whole routine.
That was the first time I've EVER seen that done at a ride. (really, it
was!) <g> I thought it was a great idea, and probably should be done more
often. It was nice to see somebody take the extra time to explain
thoroughly how everything worked, rather than just answer questions, since
lots of the new people usually don't even know what to ask.
