Good point, but these rides had problems on the second day of
competition, the horses had been on site for three days. However,
they were in stalls, eating hay, not grass. No avoiding that as a
factor. At the PAC the change of diet was what most people
blamed problems on. But HOW does one avoid that??? And, at
Vermont 100 endurance, where many horses were so local that
they rode 2-3 miles to the start of the ride (ie, they spent the night
in their very own beds) and we still had tons of problems.
Frustrating, huh?
