You can put me on your prize list too. Here in northern
Virginia (near DC) the prices for everything are high. My
farrier is in the average range and I pay $70 for trim and
front shoes only, $120 for shoes all around. I get a $5
discount for a reset (whoo hoo). I'm not sure what he
charges for just a trim. He does several horses at my barn
(a boarding facility with 40 horses) and we work out
appointments so he can do at least 2 horses when he comes
out. He uses keg shoes, works them hot and puts clips on.
He's done a great job so far (I've only had my horse since
January) and is quiet and patient. My horse likes him, I
always think that's a good sign.
