Leatherman Tool
Why not just add a proper clinch cutter to the interminable list of items
that are carried in the world-famous endurance butt pack. They are quite
compact, reasonably light, and are purpose-built for the task. They were a
standard issue item for every cavalryman. I have two; one with Canadian
Army proof marks, and another with British Army markings dated 1917. They
can be used: to raise the clinches, using a rock as a hammer, to tap the
nails back, and finally to lever the shoe off.
