If some people have physical limitations that makes completing a 25 mile
ride 'enduring' for them, more power to them, bur AERC was NOT set up to
consider endurance for PEOPLE! It is for the HORSE. Otherwise, they would
check the rider's heart-rate, hydration, and muscle tone! Saying that LDs
are not endurance riding is not being a snob, but following the guidelines
of the sport as it was established. If riding 25 miles is all someone wants
to accomplish, fine, but that doesn't make it endurance. Not for the horse.
And that's what this is about. The horse.
