I've been reading the "looking for a horse - need advice" articles
and the "nonstereotypical endurance horse" articles and have found
out I'm riding the wrong horse!!!. I ride a dark bay (wrong color), 16.2H
(too big), TB (wrong breed) mare (jury's out here). Point - I love to
compete on this horse!! She has more heart than my Arab and I just
know that the " how's the weather up there?" comments are pure
jealousy because she's the prettiest horse there. Joking aside. Find
a sound horse that you like to look at, you enjoy it's temperment and
you can afford. The rest'll come around. Even if it's not an Arab, it
could quite possibly do well. My mare has 100% completions of LD's
and 50's - some in 1st/2nd; others in the middle. Have fun looking. Both
mine are backyard, not bought for endurance horses.
