[endurance] Cloud Stirrups

This is an unsolicited endorsement! I recently bought the cloud stirrups
and I have been riding in other types of wide endurance stirrups. They are
WONDERFUL for me. Here's what I like. they are so long that is impossible
for me to have my toes down. I can now have longer stirrups, my knees don't
hurt and I can keep my heels down. There is no rubbing on my hunt boots
because of the cut out area. I've been riding in half chaps because I didn't
want to ruin my hunt boots
but I much prefer to ride in boots. The stirrups are wide enough so there
is no pressure on the sides of my feet. I often wondered why we didn't have
stirrups like the South American gauchos in which the entire foot is
supported- sort of like clogs. The Cloud stirrups come pretty close. The
only problem I'm having is to not gouge the side of the horse when
mounting. I face the rear when mounting and as I turn, the stirrup also
turns and hits the horse because it is so big. I am working on doing a mount
while facing the front of the horse. I don't think this is correct, but it
is the only way I can think of to avoid loss of points on a NATRC ride. The
gouging is minor and doesn't bother the horse. The only other product I am
really high on are the Carousel tights from Sportack
and I've got plenty of company on that viewpoint.
