Well, I haven't found rodent parts, but I have found rocks, dirt, etc.  
However, I wonder whether the raw material going into the pellets is any 
better...  When I soaked (or cooked) pellets, I would usually find some grit in 
the bottom of the container.

However, I will grant you that pellets are cleaner to handle than the shreds.  
For me, though, since I wanted them fully re-hydrated, they were more of a pain 
to prepare.
