Re: [RC] Beet pulp shortage - Elizabeth WalkerI'm in SoCal, and have had no problems this year. I asked my feed supplier, and she said she hadn't heard of any shortage. She said that, because there is only one crop per year (harvested in July, I think she said), they have to estimate how much they will need locally, so they can export the remainder. If they guess wrong, you get shortages. So, it could be that your local crop got trashed for this year, and there won't be a harvest, which is why they said 2010. Both my friend and I, who are in different parts of Iowa, were told by our feed suppliers that molasses-free beetpulp is nowhere to be found this year and regular beetpulp isn't far behind and will soon be completely unavailable until 2010.
