Traks also have quite a few mare and stallion Shagya blood lines---and they have produced World & Olympic Champions. The American Shagya Arabian Verband had the opportunity to listen to Dr. Maren Engelhardt (plenary lecturer) at our National meeting last week in Bend, Oregon. Her whole discussion topic was the influence of the Shagya blood lines in producing world event horses. Dr. Engelhardt is from East Prussia and is known as a top Trakehner judge and breeder. She founded "Trakehners-International". See www.shagyaregistry.com

Traks have a lot of Arab in them, more so than any other warmblood (of course if you're not counting Shagyas.) The ones I've met have considerably more "fire" than other WBs.

don't want to push him too fast because he's still growing. I think the arab-trakenhner cross makes for a great all around athletic horse. Just my opinion. Happy Trails to all.
