Re: [RC] re: Trakenhners - Lynne Glazer

Traks have a lot of Arab in them, more so than any other warmblood (of course if you're not counting Shagyas.) The ones I've met have considerably more "fire" than other WBs.

He should indeed be a good all-around horse!

I have a half arab /trakenhner gelding that has just turned 4. He was trained by a dressage trainer and I have been riding him out on the trails. He's wonderful to ride and I hope to do some limited distance rides on him later this year. I don't want to push him too fast because he's still growing. I think the arab-trakenhner cross makes for a great all around athletic horse. Just my opinion. Happy Trails to all. Patty

I don't know about them as endurance horses, but I have friends here
in Cody who own and breed them as sport horses and they are all very
good looking, athletic horses. My friends use them in dressage,
eventing and jumping. I'd love to try one in endurance, but they are
way out of my price range. Cindy
