The AERC gets money. 2. CTR as an introduction and adjunct to Endurance and LD is encouraged in areas where there is not a regional organization to sanction and encourage CTR, especially CTR without horsemanship judging. Some of us remember that the AERC had to be reminded that the Midwest existed by Louise Reidel when the board, worried about unsafe non AERC sanctioned rides, effectively banned CTR on the same venue as AERC rides. Look at the rules and you will see specific language limiting rides that can be held on the same venue as AERC rides.
