Re: [RC] [RC] Biting Horse at Ride - Truman Prevatt

A Macaw can take off a finger. That parrot took a chunk from under a persons eye once after we had warned them to stay away. We had let it out on the top of its cage. She did not listen and when I turned my head put her face in its face and bingo it ripped a piece of hide from under her eye. If it had been higher it would have gotten the eye. Ever wonder why pirates wear eye patches? The reason we don't let it out of its cage now at rides is not because of the bird but because of the stupidity of people who are warned but think they know more than the owner and disregard the wishes of the owner.

Bottom line - when you are warned you have a responsibility to heed the warning.

Yes but parrots don't rip peoples' arms off.

What is even more amazing is when you tell someone to be careful of an
animal and for some reason they know a lot more about your animal than
you :-( . My wife has a parrot. Cute little - well not so little - guy
but birds will bite and this parrot will when provoked and it is
difficult at times to know what will provoke him. He stays in a
    cage at
rides. It truly amazes me when someone comes up to look at him and we
tell them to be careful and make sure their fingers stay out of
    the cage
because he has been know to bit and he bites hard - I have scars.

The next though you know they are sticking their fingers in the cage
    trying to rub him.
