That is such an individual ride question. I don’t know if it
can be answered across the board. The way I see it, for a ride to be able to
allow some generators, they have to have a ridecamp that is big enough that the
noisy section can be far enough from the quiet section so that people can
sleep. Not all camps are blessed with that kind of space.

Is
there any chance that rides will allow generators to be run after
"bedtime" in the future, given the obvious risk of using propane
heaters? No, not everyone can afford $45,000 or more for a nice LQ
trailer with safe heat. Yes, those of us who truly love the sport will
"rough it" when we have to. But at the same time, most of
today's electric generators are very quiet and a small space heater would
obviate the need to carry propane and have an open flame within an enclosed
trailer.
