I've never gotten them on a 100 but I have gotten them in a 5 day
ride....but then I just use our Trail-Rite Magical Ointment on it and it's gone
in 24 hours or less.

OK, I
understand the scratches that horses out west get from Alkaline soil when they
do multi-days, etc...but there are people whose horses who seem to get it no
matter where they compete. I personally have never had one of these horses and
I can't imagine that it's something I'm doing right...so I'm guessing there is
something, like a fungus or something that these horses have present in their
home environment that goes crazy under say, 100 mile conditions. It just makes
no sense at all to me to see a horse start a 100 looking fine and by the end
of the ride have lesions.
So I'm people whose horses seem more likely
to get them. Do they have anything in common?
Any thoughts on
that?
