Re: [RC] re: National Championship (mike's comments) - Cindy Collins
John, I'd be willing to send the AERC my percentage!...even if I never am able to ride it. And as another prominent member pointed out privately and I've been pondering, the three best things that have happened to endurance riding in my lifetime were the ROC, endurancenet, and the big XPs. Guess what, the AERC had nothing to do with them and often threw up impediments. Enough said....Cindy

OMG are there really 6000 members. I guess I have a tendency to think the membership is all inclusive of those that are Ride Camp active! LOL! And you know what - how great would it be to have an organization that viable to project endurance into the stratosphere!

hmmm $1500x6000=$9,000,000 --- at that rate for the annual dues AERC might indeed consider funding an annual showcase 100!!

Well, of course, they should John. Because we all want to pay $1500.00 a year in annual dues - right?

It takes about $50k - $100k to put on an event such as the ROC. Are you suggesting that AERC put that kind of effort into it?

ps. Now the AERC puts (as I recall) $7k into the event (plus some non-cash promotional support which should not really count) and that may only be used as reimbursement of the cost of the Vets for the (NC) event.
