It takes about $50k - $100k to put on an event such as the ROC. Are  
you suggesting that AERC put that kind of effort into it?

ps. Now the AERC puts (as I recall) $7k into the event (plus some non- 
cash promotional support which should not really count) and that may  
only be used as reimbursement of the cost of the Vets for the (NC)  
event.
