Re: [RC] Pull codes - John TeeterGoing back to Melissa's article... This is pretty clear as far as it goes, but it does not address the RO-L, RO-M, or RO-SF pull codes at all. It also doesn't address the (temporal) order of the evaluations which are performed by the control vet completely. So the following 4 step scenario is possibly the most common: 1) you arrive at a gate, go in to the vet check and receive a Fit2Continue evaluation 2) you determine that you will not continue (note that now you fit in to the RO category as defined by M.s article) 3) you announce you are not continuing 4) you present for your final evaluation (if this is indeed required) and the vet determines that your horse is metabolically distressed or Lame and the RO is modified to RO-M (or RO-L as the case may be) Note that the two sentences quoted from Melissa's article do not address this scenario completely. They stop at step 2 I think. my contention is that since 1) occurred, you have the option for 2) which leads to 3) and that by doing 4) the vet may help you determine if it is RO-L, RO-M, RO-SF, or just RO, but they should not re- evaluate their determination of 1), which was fit2continue, EVEN IF, at this point, your horse is not fit to continue. jt =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
