The other barn is probably a 10 minute walk down at the bottom of a hill. I realize you have to choose from the properties available, but I really like having my "barn" area a 4 minute walk downhill from the house. It is amazing how spoiled (lazy?) we get when things are right there under our noses. Coming back up from feeding is always a good cardio-vascular workout, even if I just walk. And if I'm pushing a wheelbarrow of manure for compost, even better...... sort of :) There is vehicle access which is very convenient for bringing in sacks of grain or hay. I feed down there but have water up near the house so the ponies have to go up and down a lot too. Actually, they go up and down a lot anyway because that's pretty much all I have, lol! They love to run down the mountain full tilt boogie but it surely scares me to see them move that way! When it's the dead of winter, I often wish I could feed without going outside but otherwise, I like having to walk a bit. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
