RE: [RC] re:Burn Injury From Hot Ash - Sheila A. WalshHi Nancy, My sister is a nurse and she says she would pour honey on her patients tunneling wounds, cause it's the only thing that would work (30 years ago). I am not sure how well that would go over in a hospital/ nursing home these days, but it's good to know. I also suggest that you keep protein and lots of fluids in front of your dog for the entire healing process. Thanks for the info. Sheila No hour of life is wasted, spent in the saddle. We tried several remedies but the only one that was effective was raw honey. We packed the wounds daily in honey and the wound stayed sterile, hydrated and the skin grew back rapidly (well, 3 months, it was a really big wound. ) If you can tape a bandage on somehow to hold the honey on this is really your best bet. We were amazed at the success of honey and I have since used it on several other serious wounds with great success. Can't say enough good things about it. Good luck!
