Re: [RC] [RC] Eventing deaths - Maryanne GabbaniOh, I'll believe that! The only other horse "sport", to use the term very loosely, that might be worse for them would be halter shows! Most of the riders in Egypt are either jumpers, a few polo players, and some pleasure riders. Due to space constraints, 99.999% of them have their horses in boxes with very little or no turnout. I have vets who must see at least 5 colics a week among those horses.I was told that I was crazy to have my horses outside all the time...too hot, too cold, too much sun, whatever...and by the more financially astute that I could have a stable of 80 horses in the same place that I keep under 20 in paddocks. Though what I'd do with 80 horses other than be driven mad by their owners is beyond me. On the whole, endurance riding isn't doing so badly I suspect.
