if the donks are not used to goats some of them will
kill goats, too.
sold some goats to a man down the road who had two
donkeys and i warned him but he assured me the donkeys were used to goats and
would be fine. soon as they saw the goats they set out to
kill!!
we had a time getting those donkeys penned up before
they did in the small herd of goats. maybe they were used to THEIR goats
but thought these weren't their's. you can't just go buy any ole donkey
and expect things to be fine. patty in georgia
Man does not have the only memory, The animals remember, The earth
remembers, The stones remember, If you know how to listen, they will tell
you many things.
Those of you with goats may consider getting a "standard" sized donkey
for protection. Put one in with your herd. They are easy to own, very
loveable, eat very little and are very good at keeping dogs OUT. The mini
donkeys (like I have) are pretty docile and not as aggressive as the
standard sized donkeys. The BLM donkeys are really good predator control as
they grew up in the wild and had to defend themselves. Donkeys can't run far
so they stand and fight. They are good fighters. They will even go after
mountain lions and chase bears out. Farmers are using them quite a bit now for
protecting livestock.
