Re: [RC] [RC] another dressage video (OT) - Dyane SmithJuli Jakub wrote: "Every horse I have seen that has been trained with Rolkur has those same stilted gaits with lack of true collection. It was certainly calm or relaxed or lifeless (depending on your point of view) but when he speeded it up, he didn't overstep. I'm not sure if you are supposed to in dressage, but my horse, who is now 29 and arthritic, still oversteps 8-12" even when he is just ambling along in pasture. My horse has an excellent back and when he was young would stretch so far that his elbows were on the ground. He doesn't do quite that anymore but his stretches are still the equal of the two younger horses. I was bothered by the mare's tail, but I also thought her pirouettes (?) were much more animated than the winning horse's.
