I started riding later in life. Never having owned a horse
before, and just barely knowing how to ride, I adopted my two mustangs at age
59. That was two years ago. My goal is to do the Tevis in two years. For my 40th
birthday, I took the family to Yosemite NP and launched my hang glider off the edge
of the valley. Flew across the valley and climbed the updrafts across the face
of Half Dome. Talk about a rush! The valley floor was 4,000 feet straight
down. Upon hearing folks complain about aging, I can’t help but think of
my buddies killed in Vietnam
who never grew older than 21 or 22. And when I find myself bemoaning the price
of aging, I simply think of the alternative. Always makes me feel a bit
better. Happy riding, Geezers! -- Dave
