Absolutely.

When a ride takes place in a public park in an area inhabited by people who 
have all the (and the only) right answers on all things Environmental - can 
you spell Redwood Regional Park? - tearing down ribbons is so common that 
going almost any distance without seeing from ribbon to ribbon is unsettling.
