Re: [RC] AERC National Championships with an International - Beth WalkerThe rides I have attended, we have had lots more volunteers than vets. I think the most vets we had was 6, and usually it is 3 or 4, with generally 2 or 3 different vet check locations. With those numbers, having the volunteers do the pulse taking makes more sense in our area.On Aug 28, 2007, at 10:10 AM, Steph Teeter wrote: throw in multiple vet check locations (we had 4 separation locations) and it becomes even more challenging. (you'd need 4 Nancy's and many more volunteer pulse takers). I honestly think it's best to be flexible on this - in our case we had LOTS of vets, and there was never any waiting. In the case where there's a rush, and not enough vets, one should use additional pulse takers. The use of hand-held monitors certainly improves the accuracy and makes up for lack of qualified/experienced pulse takers. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
