Way back in the distant past, early 50s, we
got a mare that had supposedly come from Wyoming, tale said she had been in the
calf roping at Cheyenne, in the money. I know now that she had to be
mostly, maybe all, Polish Arab by her conformation. The only
brand was a huge "4 0 4" across the top slope of the hip.
Wasn't a nice neat brand, done with a running iron
I wonder if she might have been from
Rushcreek?
How did they used to do the hip numbers, anybody
know?
This conversation about Rushcreek horses is very
timely because I bought a Rushcreek horse yesterday. Her name is
Rushcreek Maggie and the number on her hip is 548 and she is very
nice. Julie Suhr
