Re: [RC] Safest at the Trot??? - Barbara McCraryIf a horse has a slow walk, I agree, but I look for a horse that has a fast, smooth, forward walk, and love that. I had a horse until recently, who had a lovely fast walk, was a fine endurance horse, and was very safe on technical trails. Trouble was, he loved to spook when trotting, and he unloaded me twice by blowing sideways at a trot...on wide open roads. He never did this on a technical trail or during an event...only around home. I landed on my hip both times, and figured I simply did not need a broken hip at my age. My 14 year old granddaughter now rides him, and her reaction time is better than mine, her balance better, and she's fearless. What a team!Barbara ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mike Lewis" <mikelewis@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Jessica Spoone-Raines" <jspoone@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>; <ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, April 13, 2007 1:58 PM Subject: Re: [RC] Safest at the Trot??? Agree!! I *hate* the walk--it picks at my impatient nature. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
