Re: [RC] [RC] slaughter vs consumption - Ravenpeople bent on ending horse slaughter have been unwilling to realistically address the problem of what to do with unwanted horses, and have seemed to be oblivious to the fact that closing LOCAL plants has caused a huge amount of pain and suffering by CAUSING the batching and transport of unwanted horses The anti-slaughter people are NOT the ones causing the "problem of unwanted horses". The breeders who over breed are responisble. The racing industry is responsible The back yard breeder who breeds horses "just to see what they can get" is responisble. The owners who buy horses, and choose not to commit to that horse for life are responsible. How about asking those who have been irresponsible to step up to the plate (no pun intended) and do the "right thing" for their horses? Why blame the anti-slaughter folks for problems created by irresponsible breeders and owners?
