Re: [RC] vet check questions - brejd

Just a short note on soaking the BP. I find I have a better chance of it arriving at a check with whatever I may have added by putting it into a small Ice chest, tapeing it shut (duck tape is the best) on hot rides it stays cooler...cold rides I add hot water and it stays warmer. It is always fresh and they eat right out of the cooler. What they do not eat at the checks I feed when I get back to camp....the food is already made and ready...just dump into their feed pan...add a few carrots et and away I go. Droy

Laney, your response about your horse not eating his BP mash at the ride has me intrigued. Any theories as to why? Also, any other horses out there who do this? I will be bringing hay, BP mash, apples and carrots, but I would be very worried if he refused to eat his BP. Again, thanks in advance.
