I have never heard of anyone sitting to the trot on the
trail, but maybe I've missed something somewhere. I post, my husband
stands in the stirrups. It's a matter of taste and comfort, I
suspect. I think anyone who tries to sit a trot on the trail for very long
will become very sore, and the horse's back may also.
